Secular music often makes me sad. I hear lines about "ending it all" and "sweet darkness overtaking me". That should make all of us christians understand how imperative it is that we act like Jesus and befriend the "unchurched". They are starving for something and they don't know how to fill that spot. Or the songs about girls or by girls that talk about sex, shaking things, and lust. Music is art, and art is usually a direct reflection of inner feelings or emotions. Not always... But a lot. People attach themselves to this music... "It speaks to me." or "That song is my theme song." They say... Music is a powerful thing, and we need to be aware of that power. We need to understand that secular music is a direct reflection of the problems we WILL encounter when we attempt to speak to someone about God.
