I think this was a great article. Many Christians don't realize what a vast disconnect there really is.

I respectfully disagree with the poster who said this is not Biblical. Jesus used parables of common everyday things and events to portray the gospel, there is no verse against updating such symbols to spread the good news.

The phrase "born again" was used in the conversation with Nicodemus to help him "get the point". Thank God we don't speak phrases in Aramaic to non-believers since that was good enough for Jesus!

I thought that this article was very good. Many times as soon as people hear you start to talk about salvation they are immediately turned off, chances are someone has talked to them about this before and they know the drill of how to shake us off and make a quick getaway. Early Christians were relivant to the culture they were in. We need to be aswell.
"You can break through static to evangelize in ways people in today’s culture can understand well". I think that this is the key. We are breaking the ice and helping the person allow God to move into their lives. I Highly doubt that Ron Martoia is saying that we need to replace the Gospel, I think he is saying that we may need to examine how we start to approach sharing the Gospel.

I wasted ten minutes of my life reading this article. Many of the things written here are almost anti-Biblical. Don't talk about being "born again?" Try to find a more contemporary language to use? "Born again" is straight from God-breathed Scripture, and was spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ. If it was good enough for him, it is good enough for me. Crosswalk should be hanging their head in shame for posting this. Frightening.
