I agree that there must be some sense of sanity restored our courts. I am a retired peace officer from Texas and am now pastoring in Tennessee. I was still a peace officer when Andrea Yates drowned her children. It was the most horrible crime I had ever heard of as a law enforcement officer. It is a shame that she is only in mental institution instead of prison. I feel that way because a similar situation arose in Pennsylvania where a man killed his twin daughters. Andrea drowned her five and he stabbed his two. She is in a mental institution with a chance at freedom if she is "healed" and he is in prison. She suffered from psychosis and he suffered from psychosis. She is a woman and he is a man. The system is byass in favor of women who commit crimes against their children and are more prejudicial toward men who do the same. I believe we are all equal, but when it comes to justice, the system is not blind to gender. Some please put the blindfold back over justice's eyes!
