Excellent article. Right where I am at right now. Self-pity, feelings of failure and rejection, small house, (but a nice car-there is always an upside). I am frustrated and take it out on my wife sometimes. (Just emotional abuse, not physical). I am ready for change, big time but feel hemmed in. Some good scriptures. Pray for me. And thanks for the article. Some great insight. MH

I think one factor was omitted: lack of delegation. Trying to do it all as a one-man band. This is not necessarily the pastor's fault; I've seen pastors who have no one to whom to delegate.
In a congregational-style church, that fault may very well lie with the body and who they elect.
