I totally disagree with the other reviews, I really enjoyed I am Legend. It was an on the edge of my seat movie for me. I was completely wrapped up in it. I feel like Will Smith is only getting better with time. The only movie I did not enjoy with him in it was Wild West

Everyone who hates the theatrical ending should look for the very interesting and probably better alternative ending.

Absolutely one of the worst, if not the worse movie Will Smith has ever done. It starts out well, but slowly succumbs to trash, bizarre, boring, and unbelievable, at best. I wanted to get up and leave and ask for my money back, but my Husband wanted to see the rest. Now, I wish I had just went out to wait for him.

There were a couple of surprise scenes that made me jump, but then nothing, nada, zip! The ending was so predictable and boring, I was almost glad it ended the way it did because they I knew the movie was over.

Poor Will Smith. If I were him, I'd leave this one off my resume.

I disagree with this review!
Four of us went to see I Am Legend, and we all loved it! In fact, for two of us it was the second time to see it!

i love this site, but i am totally dissapointed with the movie critics. the sarcasm, lack of research and unprofesioanlism of the reviews i've read lately, including this one, just offend me as a movie fan.

i encourage crosswalk.com to please get profesional (and christian, preferably) movie critics to discuss seriously this art form. crosswalk deserves better and so de we.

as far as this movie, it was an incredible piece of entertaiment. the score by newton howard, flawless, as usual. the script, solid (except one little mistake i won't share). the suspense, alfred hitchcok style. and will smith, despite being younger than the actual charracter, was perfect in the role.

special effects and makeup are excellent and by the way, the creatures are not zombies and there is a reason they only come out at night. a reason explained in the movie. not just because they "prefer to do their work in the dark".

in conclusion, a 100 minutes well spent.

What is going on with Crosswalk? Why are there articles encouraging christians to watch The Golden Compass to "prove we're not afraid", and then denigrate I Am Legend? I Am Legend has a great faith filled message. A scene of sincere family prayer in the Lord's name (with a following request that was later answered!), a positive change and proclamation promoting faith despite overwhelming circumstance, and a woman professing hope in the name of God, a hope that was rewarded! Why are we worried about the creatures? Who cares? They were better than those in Signs by far, maybe the reviewer is not use to CG? Using that logic we should dismiss the Spider Man movies as well. And the "cheesy scenes" emphasized the humanity of the situation, they are intended to touch our hearts. This is an EXCELLENT film, not for children, but excellent! As stewards of the resources of God, should we use them to promote viewing The Golden Compass or a movie like I Am Legend? The choice is our own.

After seeing the movie yesterday, I must disagree with any insinuation of hokeyness. Yes, the mutants may have been more effective if done in the vein of the very real- looking vampires from Blade 2 (do not see that movie); but they hardly detract from an absolutely stunning film. Smith may well be the best actor of his generation... just the scene where the dog dies should get him an Oscar. While not a family movie by any stretch, I Am Legend is powerful, lacks inappropriate content, and has a beautifully redemptive ending.
For the user who asked about The Omega Man- yes, it is the same story. That was a pretty good movie as well, though it takes a much different angle.

I have yet to see the film, but the trailer and review makes it sound like a remake of the movie Omega Man from c. 1970 which starred Charleston Heston as the last healthy man on earth. Heston also battled pale-skinned pink-eyed mutants who could not go out in the sun. Those mutants still thought rationally, making avoidance more difficult. Does this comparison have merit?

Saw this movie yesterday.

The baddies are a bit "hulkish" in that most are computer generated, but I did jump & yelp a few times in surprise.

I do wander about a few things. What was he doing with his map & xing off buildings ?

Was the point of the hunt in the red Mustang for food or what ?

Have a few more questions, but will wait till more have seen the movie.
