The Presidential Primary is fast approaching and many have asked of my ballot opinions...
As it relates to the President, this is totally your call. I'm a Republican, that means I'll be voting from the GOP ballot come Tuesday, February 5th. Many of my listeners are Democrats, so I can assure you of one thing - you'll get the Democrat ballot for Super Tuesday and a choice between Hillary and Obama, choose wisely.
For all of us...get out and vote, it is a God given, God blessed privileged to do so. We'll discuss our options after we have the 'two' candidates in a determined race for the White House.
On the statewide propositions...
Proposition 91 - This measure protects money intended for building roads, freeways and other transportation projects from being raided when the budget gets in bad shape - like it is right now! It has been an underfunded, under advertised proposition, but I agree with its passing. I'm voting YES on 91.
Proposition 92 - This is budget by the ballot box, from my conversations within the Capitol, this proposition may cause too much of a hassle. Yes, I want budget accountability, but I'm not sure this is the best idea for California and the legislators in Sacramento at this time, I'm voting NO on 92, with little passion here, holding out hope for better initiatives in the future.
Proposition 93 - I have a full column on why I believe Prop 93 is a very bad idea for California. We all like 'term limits', but this proposition will actually increase a few current politician's terms in the Senate and the Assembly. It is a badly created and messaged proposition. I'm voting a passionate NO on 93, and tell others to do the same.
Propositions 94 through 97 - These are (four Indian tribe casinos in Southern California) casinos increasing the amount of slots permitted on their land, in exchanged they have offered more money from the profits for the state's budget and operation. Many conservatives support these propositions, but I'm not a big fan of growing gambling...or gaming as it is called. Let's limit casino growth and balance the budget with discipline, not proceeds from addictions. I'm voting NO on these proposition; 94 through 97.
