MOST DEPRESSING TIME OF OUR LIVES
Tonight on the show we'll be discussing new research that details the "Mid-Life Crisis" for all of creation, not just American citizens.
"The 40's are the most depressing time for men and women alike," says the report. I believe the 40's are more than tough, especially if you got married in your early 20's and had children shortly after marriage. At the age of 40-45 your life is beginning to radically change - and it can be for the better, or for the bitter.
I'm preparing to celebrate my 44th birthday next month, (Leap Year, February 29th, so actually only the 11th), and I can report that 40-to-44 has not be an easy journey, but it has been very rewarding resting in the palm of God's hand and allowing Him to 'correct' my eyesight with some Lasik eye, heart and faith surgery. It's scary, but getting 'out of the boat' and walking in radical faith corrects (matures, refocuses and tunes) one's life at 40-45.
Psalm 27:1-2 states, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life (my mid-life too); Whom shall I dread?"
Why did David use two sentences describing our fleshly lust with the emotion directed toward the unexpected event; one with the word 'fear', and the other with the word 'dread'? I believe the first references those episodes in his earlier years, before the age 40 let's say. We are 'fearful' (by the schemes of the enemy and our weakness to believe them) of not attaining, not succeeding, so we learn to live by our fears and become 'control freaks' in our lives.
Then the second half brings 'dread' from the enemy. We start to 'look back' and dread what we did, or didn't do to our standards. We also dread the possibility of losing what we have attained, or have accomplished. We live in fearful dread, a life that God has told us we must run from - fear not people.
The antidote to fear is FAITH. Total, radical, unexplainable faith in the Person, Provider of Abba Father and His Son, our Savior - Jesus Christ. We'll discuss this study and societal fact tonight on the show, join us at 5PM.

Voters' economic concerns also helped propel him to a win. Mitt Romney came in a close second, winning the conservative Republican vote, including the votes of religious conservatives. (CBS News) From the Washington Post: McCain enjoys assets that many party strategists said Tuesday night will make him difficult to stop in his bid to win the nomination that eluded him eight years ago. He can effectively close out the race against former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney in next week's 21-state GOP showdown. "It gives him real momentum going into Super Tuesday," said Matthew Dowd, who was chief strategist for President Bush's reelection campaign in 2004. "Florida really is the steppingstone." (Washington Post) Breakdown of the vote. McCain got over half the Hispanic voters. (USA Today) Another story notes “Registered Independents and Democrats were not allowed to vote, but McCain still won.” (RealClearPolitics) Giuliani is expected to quit the race and endorse McCain. (FOX News) From Michael Medved: As a regular talk radio listener, I’ve heard “John McLame,” or “John McVain,” or, for that matter, “Senor Juan McCain.” Then, of course, there’s the ever-popular designation “Senator John McAmnesty.” I hate to interrupt all the merriment and wit, but I would suggest that my colleagues get used to a new title--- Mr. President.
