I must comment on the previous statement, "It's the saving power of the Gospel that changes cultures and society...not our creative thinking." It sounds like sharing the gospel and being creative are opposites;they work together as this article so clearly says. This view is narrow-minded in thinking that everything about our culture is evil and we should not use the good things in it nor create new ways to share His truth because we must only do it one way. We miss the point that God uses our creativity and talents to attract people so that they will approach us about our lives and ask about the gospel or allow us to share. The Bible is full of creative people who had confidence in their abilities and were used mightily by God. There are many believers today who are influencing the culture through movies, music, books, sports, websites, etc. Let' not be so shallow to think that God does not use our personality and talents to share truth. Please read "Roaring Lambs" to get more balance.

I think Jesus' command pretty much tells us what we should do to "change the culture".

"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."

It's the saving power of the Gospel that changes cultures and society...not our creative thinking.

That's why Paul told Timothy to "preach the word" and to "be prepared in season and out of season" (2 Timothy 4:2). This is exactly how the disciples turned the world upside down as you read through Acts. Nothing was going to stop them from spreading the beautiful news.

So I suggest we be creative in preaching and sharing the gospel so that we may by all possibe means save some (1 Corinthians 9:22). Only then will we turn this world upside down.

Thanks for a positive article. So often we hear others, especially leaders, condemn our culture instead of engaging our culture and demonstrating God's love to them. I think the statement to not "separate your faith from the rest of your life" is the key. Our faith must be integrated into our lifestyle and we must be strong in the Lord in order to live and love and not withdraw out of fear. There is a book by Bob Briner called, "Roaring Lambs" that outlines how Christians can do this in practical ways-I recommend it. With God's help we must influence our culture for Christ without condemning it and turning them off to God's love. We must remember that the two greatest things we can do in our lifetime is to Love God and Love our neighbors. These are the two greatest commandments as taught by Jesus. And we know that love is action.
