"But you ask, 'How do we rob you?'
"In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. --Malachi 3:8-10 (NIV)
Pay attention to "open the floodgates of heave and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."
I'm on welfare, so it seems that I can't afford to part with a tithe (tenth) of the pittance I get every month. But I thought I'd try this anyway!
God does math differently than we do. The remaining 90% somehow lasts like 110% when I wasn't tithing. I can't explain it. It makes no sense mathematically. And I'll never stop tithing!
