Well, as an Episcopalian, first off, I have been in this CHURCH since birth, and I think it's worth fighting for. Please do yourself a favor and read the history of the Anglican/Episcopalian church and the Christians who were nurtured there before you arrogantly judge what is and isn't a church. The issues are much more complicated than you seem to think they are, secondly, and it's not just about homosexuality--the actions of the diocese and parishes that have put themselves under a foreign bishop is against all tradition and has to do with authority in the church. (Bear in mind that these are not people who were directly under Gene Robinson.) It may be that my husband and I will choose to go to a continuing church in the Anglican tradition, but it'll be after much prayer and with the conviction that nothing will change. And it will be God who convinces us to leave, not somebody on a website.

I still don't fully understand why there's an issue. The bible is very clear on the issue of homosexuality. Personally, I wouldn't consider it a church if gay ministers were allowed to preach. Why don't conservative Christians walk away from such organizations which practice this? And they are "organizations" not Church's.

As an Episcopalian, I'm heartbroken at what's going on with my church, and my husband and I stay in the hopes that we can make some difference. However, the only thing I've heard of that comes even close to promoting Goddess worship or selling books of spells was an isolated incident involving a priest who immediately afterwards left the church. It's certainly not a church wide movement--I think that there was some exaggeration involved.

How sad that we have turned so far from the truth of Scripture and allowed "tolerance" to rule.

The EC has not pushed past perceived boundaries, it has rejected the Word of God outright. The Bible is very clear in regarding the practice of sexual immorality, and specifically homosexuality as deadly sin.

As for the Goddess issue, here is an in depth report:

Granted, the EC-USA has pushed beyond the perceived boundaries of traditional Biblically understanding; however, the assertions of 'goddess worship' and 'books of spells' is a rather lame attack. Where did these accusations originate and can they be proven to have validity?
