well, well, surprise, surprise; even though you were sure that Rick Warren would fail (after all, he's the pastor of a MEGA CHURCH and he's just TOO NICE to actually be used by God, as any TRUE Christian would know), God could actually use this man for HIS purposes and good. But then, he probably spends more time seeking God and HIS purposes than he does criticising other Christians. As for Mr. Wickham, of course he doesn't get it and it makes him mad! But all who are without Christ arrogantly think they can run their own lives and everyone elses without any help or notice from God, thank you very much! Who really cares what he thinks??

What I would like to know is what did McCain say when asked when does life begin?

The candidates may have answered in their own words but is the role of America's leading Pastor to be a mediator? Why did he not advise both men as to what the Scripture says about abortion, life, marriage ,AIDS etc? He let down the Christian community by holding this at his church, making Christianity captive to secular-based thought, without being a Christian soldier himself when clearly given the opportunity to. Better to please God than man.

Of course secularists won't be pleased. Any attempt at even a suggestion of Christianity gets them up in arms. Nothing surprising here. But I think Al may be suggesting that because secularist were not pleased, that this somehow validates the forum. I fail to see it. The left also believes the mainsteam media is hostile to them. Believe that? That was just released today. It is an attempt to quiet any opposition ever by even the mainstream and to make Christians and conservatives evil. Woe to them that call evil good and good evil.

A clear division on the issues of morality was made evident at the forum at Saddleback Church. As Christians, we need to examine what OUR two candidates for office believe, and support the one whose stance is most closely aligned to the teaching of the Holy Bible, not of the post-modern secular world. We need a president with a compass that points the right direction on issues of morality. Columnists such as DeWayne Wickham would like us to forget our moral responsibilities when we enter the voting booth, but I for one will look to a higher author than him. No one is suggesting a theocracy, just a republic that hasn't forgotten it's Judeo-Christian roots. By the way, Mac, WHERE is a place, WERE is the past plural form of be, and I assume from context that "ACHRAMONY" must be ACRIMONY.

If Saddleback revealed anything it revealed how most politicians will pander to a crowd. If abortion and gay marriage where the only problems we face today, then there is a point to all of this. They aren't.

The founding fathers where right to keep religion out of politics as the achramony evident since the Reagan years is still present. There was a time with both sides could talk to each other and get things done. With the flash point of abortion and gay marriage still present, I wonder if the nation will ever get to the rest of life.

e should not be surprised at secular people condemning Christians fro being involved in politics, and not too overly concerned. God wants us to be good citizens and that means being informed and taking action when we need too. Our God is the God of the universe not just the church.
