I am sorry to read some of the comments above and hear that none of those people have made mistakes before and that they listened to everything their parents told them when they were teens. I know that I have made many mistakes-still do!-and I disobeyed my parents and God at times.
We do have free will.
It distresses me to see that so many people are using this against Gov. Palin and to say things like "where were the parents when she got pregnant?" or "where were the morals then?" Her parents were probably at home or at work or at the store, not even realizing that their daughter was making a life-changing decision. Was that their fault? No. Their daughter made a choice that led to this situation. Not because she is evil or because her mother didn't instill Christian beliefs in her, but because she was born into sin, as all of us our. I am glad God will forgive my sins and her sins because it is obvious that some people, even some "christian" people, won't.

Well, well, isn't that nice? Let's applaud another teenaged unwed mother. Just as I suspected, this will be seen as brave of the vice-president elect! This will be spun as pro-life. True, the damage is done. However, there is a life coming into this world and the baby did not ask to be conceived. This child has just as much chance to be welcomed into GOD's kingdom as the rest of us. No, I wouldn't turn my back on my child if there was a teenage pregnancy, but when will all this stop being seen as brave and gutsy? Of course you like McCain even more, that's his plan. His choice of Palin is nothing more than a ploy to win the women who were voting for Hillary. Just another example of politics at work. Obama had enough class to say that children of politicians are off limits. Bet that statement got plenty of people in even more of a tizzy - expecting he was going to say something negative about it. Would you respect Obama more if it was his daughter? Hmmmm?

I think the reason so much of the criticism against Palin is coming from the Christian rignt is because that's what they do best. Good grief, they'd probably crucify her if ever she said something like: "We should be concerned about how we treat all people, including 'enemy combatants'" or, "making laws so people have to behave like Christians doesn't make them Christians, nor does it help the cause of Christ." Where were the parents when their daughter got pregnant? Probably waiting up for her. What else is new? If real people can't run for public office, I guess just the phony ones will get in. www.robertsessford.com

Doesn't this make you at all worried about the moral direction that America is heading in?

Sure, Bristol has chosen to keep the baby and marry the father. But with the movie "Juno" that came out this year and all of the hoopla surrounding pregnancy of unwed celebrities in the media, it seems as if it's becoming okay to have a baby when you're a teen because if you commit the sin of fornication you can just make up for it later. That shouldn't be how it works. It's hard to preach abstinence to our kids when the GOP vice presidential candidate's daughter, Jamie-Lynn Spears, and countless other teens are getting pregnant and having their bad choices rejoiced in the media.

I don't think we should be criticizing Bristol Palin, though. The scrutiny should be on the Palin parents. Where were they when this conception took place? Where were the values then?

Why is one party more "christian" than the other? The democrats have undeniable links to the homosexuals and abortion. The republicans have undeniable links to corporate greed and the corruption that follows as well as a nasty legacy of war profits for the few. WOuld Jesus be for handguns and war? What affects more of God's children, the refusal to raise minimum wage or the refusal to allow gay marriage?

Each deviates from Christ's principles. Why am I having to continue to read why I should vote for Palin? I can question her values just as easily as I could question Obama's values?

I don't know how I will vote but I do know that I don't presume one party is more christian than the other party.
