While this article might turn some people off with Mr. Burney's overly direct approach, the premise of his article is exactly right--we are facing moral and political decline in epic proportions. The truth has been compromised and we are paying the price. Today, 75% of our kids are leaving their faith, America is only country where Christianity is declining (http://www.revivalandawakening.org/call.html), 7,000 US churches die and close their doors every year, & the US is now the fourth largest unchurched nation in the world. How did this happen? I believe the answer is twofold--not all on pastors. A. The pulpit has compromised the truth and, equally to blame, B. Parents have not heeded God's directive of being the primary spiritual influence in their children's lives, hence the breakdown of the family and the church. What will it take to make us wake up? China is praying for persecution of our believers to wake us out of our stupor.

Psssssttttt
Since WHEN has it been YOUR money ???
Every infinitesimal fiber of EVERYTHING belongs to God. And He is not the LEAST bit unclear about what He wants us to DO with whatever He entrusts to us. I just shake my head in amazement that anyone who knows God doesn't understand how PERFECT He is. How He only wants us to do whats BEST for US. And part of what is BEST for us is doing JUST what He says. Sell it all and give it to the poor. Just watch Him then !!

Here is my whole problem with this post: You assumed that all of you readers shared your view. You were neither hospitable or agreeable by calling our president a socialist. To suggest that a Pastor or congregation that would support the new leadership is less Christian that you are is hurtful and I don't understand why Conservatives think that people who voted for him are Liberals and furthermore Liberals could not at all be following Christian views or values. You know what my Pastor taught? He taught that whatever party we are for, that as Christians we have to be united, because we should be partisan to Jesus Christ, according I Corinthian 1:10-17. There were great, good, bad and terrible things about both candidates, I'm sure, but my provision or way of life does not rest in them. I can be sure that everything that concerns me is perfected in He who died for me. Obama only has power that has been loaned to him; and whatever the issue, Christians rest in the perfect will of God.

Excellent article! I'm concerned that so many believers do not know what God's word says. We can not depend on what only our Preachers tell us but we must study the Bible on our own.
I believe judgement is coming on our Country for the millions of babies we've killed. However if Christians will heed the scripture,I Chronicles 7:14 which states, Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my (God's) face and TURN FROM THEIR EVIL WAYS, I (God)will hear from heaven and will forgive their SINS and HEAL their LAND we can change the dangerous direction our Nation is heading.
Thanks

It is absolutely amazing how christians believe until we are put in situations that stretch our faith. America has survived 43 righteous and non-righteous Presidents, and now all of a sudden we're not going to survive this. The scripture declares that God's ways are not our ways, nor are his thoughts our thoughts, so exactly who is the expert on God's thoughts? How do we know that this is NOT the divine will of God? Can we not look at our own lives, and see where we thought God was completely out of a situation and it turns out, he was right in the midst of it? How about CHRISTIANS trusting the sovereignty of God and considering that maybe this election is more about the CHURCH arising.......

Again, like I said previously. There are many people who are offended by anything they disagree with. I may be upset with some things liberals say and yes, get a little mad. I remain civil and can actually understand where liberals come from. It seems that there are some posters here who are instantly 'offended' and say people are spewing hate. Come on folks, can't we disgree without it being labeled hate. You can scream hate and then people take conversations underground and hidden? And yes, I am conservative and I am stinging from this election. Can't I sound off about not having a comraderie with my fellow Americans anymore? I am comiserating with a christian community. But guess what? I get up and go to work, I volunteer at my church, I tithe, and I take no handouts from anyone. ...and that's what I will keep on doing regardless of who is the president.

Any number of ancient civilizations have fallen, including Greece and Rome.

America is on its way to join them.

God continues on anyway.

I think this article is awesome. The truth hurts. I do agree with some of the other comments as well. The body of Christ is called to defend the orphan and the widow, but often times, we're too wrapped up into ourselves. Now is the time to pray, pray, pray. Regardless of who the president is, will the body of Christ take their place as shining lamps, a city on a hill and represent the Kingdom of God?

On the same not we must remember that biblical truth is different than our own opinion. We have to be careful when speaking on the word that we do not end up twisting it for our own purpose. That being said you can try and spread the word and still not do it correctly. I do feel some things the author spoke are false but he did not use biblical references to justify those things. He is right in saying that we do not need week minded pastors, and we do not need to think the truth we spread is hate, when it's the truth and not our own understanding of what we want it to be. Also thanks for the prayer I will pray for you as well…

Be blessed!!!

Hate may be a strong word. Rightfully this is this mans' opinion and in this country we have the right to express that as we see fit.

So I apologize to the author...

I still do not agree with what he has stated at all but that is my opinion as well and I have the right to state that.

Also I apologize for stating that I will never use the site again because of one mans' opinion, my apologies to crosswalk.com...

Thank you for making me aware my brother or sister in Christ.

Tone78-

I'm not sure where I see hate in this article or in any of the comments. I'm not saying I totally agree with Bob....I'm not sure Obama is a socialist or that he will lead our nation into destruction. What I do agree with is Bob "calling out" those Christians who are willing to compromise Biblical Truth for the sake of being "nice" or polictically correct or for fear that someone might equate that Truth with hate. I hate no one and pray for President-elect Obama and our nation. I also asked for God's Will to be done during this election. I voted - not for McCain or Obama - but I exercised my God-given, democratic right to vote. I pray God blesses this country.....and you.
