Equal protection under the law? Are you saying that homosexual marriages should be protected under the law? Why?Homosexual marriage is a perversion, a twisting of a good gift from God. The Bible says homosexuality is a sin, just like stealing, killing, idol worship, or any other sin, and is therefore condemned by God's law. When men in arrogance or ignorance make laws that countermand God's laws, it only compounds the sin, it does not make it right. As with any other sin, when we repent with a contrite heart, God will forgive us, as His Son has already paid for that sin with His death on the cross. That forgiveness, however, does not give us license to go out and cheerfully continue to commit that sin as though it is no longer wrong. We may, in weakness, fall into the sin again, but we must always fight it and ask for strength to be free of it. Yes, homosexuals have always been around-but it has always been a sin. Homosexuality is not a 'lifestyle' that deserves legal protection.

DEAR CATALPA:

It's always the exceptional cases that make news, not the overwhelming majority of Gay Americans and our supporters who have been peacefully demonstrating for equality. But let's fact it: California's Proposition 8 went WAY beyond just refining marriage, it actually REMOVED a right to marriage that had been legally granted. The California Supreme Court correctly ruled that there is no constitutional justification for denying Gay couples the same opportunity that Straight couples take for granted. It's called "EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW." But now, over 18,000 legal marriage have been put in limbo and may well be declared null and void. If it was YOUR marriage that had been put up for a popular vote and subsequently ripped apart, don't you think you would be just a bit perturbed?

You say "the homosexuals" are determined to force their way into the fabric of our society. Guess what? We have ALWAYS been part of the fabric of society. Fair treatment is all we want.

Phat, there's a difference between the peaceful boycott of a business and the blacklisting and punishing that is happening in California.
What we're seeing as a result of prop 8 appears to be a wholesale assualt. The homosexuals are determined to force their way into the fabric of our society, without thought or care of the damage they cause. I think they fight so viciously because they know somewhere deep in their hearts that their chosen 'lifestyle' is a sin.
When I as a Christian choose not to spend my money at McDonalds due to their support of homosexuality, that lets the company know I am against their position. When enough people do that, it may cause them to reconsider. I don't march through smashing things and disrupting the business, as homosexuals have done with churches and businesses. I am not attacking anyone, or forcing anyone to condone my sins. Homosexuals are using gestapo trying to force everyone to condone their sin, and that's just unacceptable.

Let me see if I have this straight: It was perfectly OK when all the usual conservative Christian lobbies (American Family Association, Family Research Council, etc.) organized boycotts and pickets against Ford, McDonald's, and other businesses when they dared to treat Gay Americans with dignity and respect .... but when Gay people boycott a business, we're told we're against freedom of speech???

Give me a break.
