I appreciated Beth's transparency in admitting that there is help professionally that is needed at times to help with fear and personal struggles. Too many times as Christians we hear others shun secular help as if it is a total admittance to having a lack of faith. God can and does use many means to bring wholeness to us. God's healing comes when He empowers others to see our situation and provide us with strategies that can revolutionize our thinking.
Oh, we still need His guidance and Wisdom as he ultimately knows us so well and we should not forsake prayer and bible study/meditation as these are necessary to our daily walk with Him. As a Christian I want to be open however to whatever means He chooses to use and not discount the value others have in blessing us with sound, helpful advice. I have learned that if we are receptive God often sends others our way to give us what we need in due season. Lord, I pray, that I will always approach people with an open heart and not discount advice if it appears to come from those outside the faith. He can use even the non-christian to bless and help us.
