Thanks for pointing out my error concerning the movie "Altered States." It's been a long time since I've seen it. Obviously, I've missed a key component in the plot according to your recollection. You'll notice that I've removed that part from the blog to reflect that correction.
As for the Adam and Steve comment, I intentionally avoided using that comment in order to avoid trivializing the thrust of the argument. Nonetheless, the biblical paradigm is male/female throughout the Bible, not just in Genesis. Homosexuality is condemned as unnatural in numerous places, called out by name and description in many others. Sex outside of marriage is likewise condemned as being outside of God's plan for human relationships.
The point made is that Genesis describes God's ordaining human sexual relations as being that between man and woman, husband and wife.
