Fall TV: Where They Left Off
- Monday, August 20, 2012
The lazy days of summer are drawing to a close, which means the really lazy nights of fall are just around the corner. If you're like me, this means tuning in for the return of all your favorite TV shows, and if you're not like me, well, you're probably much more constructive with your free time. Either way, it can be tough to keep track of what's going on in the world of television, so TheFish.com has decided to bring you up-to-date with what's happening in some of your favorite shows. Here's where we left off…
Castle's secret investigation into the murder of Beckett's mother was blown wide open after the duo discovered evidence on a dead gang member that linked the two crimes. Beckett hunted for the man who shot her, and almost died in the ensuing battle. In the wake of her near death experience, she quite the force and finally admitted her feelings to Castle.
Creator Andrew Marlowe has hinted that big things are going to be happening this season. For starters, neither Castle nor Beckett will be out of danger for long, and both will soon learned they've jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. On another note, Heroes Jack Coleman is set to make an appearance as a powerful senator, and the truth behind the murder of Beckett's mother will finally be revealed.
Modern Family (ABC)
Cam, Mitchell, and Gloria headed to the hospital to welcome the newest member of the family. They missed their chance to adopt, but were still treated to a hilarious live action Spanish Soap Opera. Meanwhile, Gloria discovered she was pregnant, while Haley made her college plans.
It's pretty obvious that the big opener for this season will be the family's reaction to Gloria's big news. Poor Jay is likely to stress about being a father again while Cam and Mitchell will probably have mixed feelings. But the real event: how will Claire and Manny react to being older siblings?
Parks and Recreation (NBC)
After a season of campaigning, Leslie Knope appeared to have lost the election for City Council. But, surprise, in a major upset it turned out she'd actually won by a slight margin! The celebration was tempered by Ben's announcement that he'd accepted a job offer in Washington, while Ann and Tom decided to give their relationship another try.
It has been announced that Leslie will head to Washington D.C. in the premiere, with cameo appearances by senators John McCain, Olympia Snowe, and Barbara Boxer. Meanwhile back in Pawnee, Andy will be applying for the police force and Ann will likely have second thoughts about her relationship with Tom.
