Lots of flooding and loads of rain falling all across big portions of the U.S. makes us all prematurely invision the fall season upon us. It doesn't hurt that most of the kids in the U.S. are also back in school. So are college kids and reading blogs like the one from Kristin here at OU kinds of frightens me about the prospects of my children someday being in one of these things called universities. MADPONY

On my way to the station today I was listening to a competitor's radio station and heard a commercial come on from the "New York Public Schools" it had to have been expensive because it ran in the morning drive slot and was on one of the top rated stations in the market. But my question is, in a day and age like the one we are in how can a major metro area school system be spending money on PR ads when in some regions of major districts like New York and Chicago don't even have enough money to give each child a textbook? I think its a relevant question don't you?

Well, we are back on the air in just a bit and some of the things to talk about today...

Instapundit...Judge Moore...The Ten Commandments...and THE NEW YORK TIMES...worth considering...

As I was watching the local news last night I saw a story about Jesse Jackson running up to Boston to get himself arrested...I laughed outoud when I saw the video of the even because I remember just a few years ago when he was "helping out" those poor misguided thugs in Decatur Illinois. He took his rent-a-mob down to Decatur and asked all of them "Who wants to get arrested today?" This was met with a joyous thunderous roar. How that made the point to these young men who had also been arrested for running through a high-school football stadium and knock everyone over they run across I'm not sure. But there he was last night in his plastic handcuffs raising his arms high above his head as though he had just set the people of Israel free... NYTIMES.

I really truly can't think of a place I'd rather NOT be. NYTIMES. A boat full of people with upset stomach...and of course it needs to be headed directly to the U.S.... great!

Looks like President Bush is serious about the jobs issue. Naming a new cabinet level position to nothing else than focus on creating new jobs. NYTIMES I guess since the recession has been over for a bit now and the signs are turning upward and now creating more jobs the President continues to take away campaign issues for his opponents. Must be tough times for the 9 candidates that two-thirds of America can not name today...USA TODAY.

Have you picked up a copy of my highly recommended book selection yet? "He's God and We're Not" is must reading. Authored by Dr. Ray Pritchard, this humbling set of ideas will crush you - then build you back up. Dr. Pritchard will be on the show soon to talk with me more about these seven ideas...

Speaking of books, Private Jessica Lynch should have held out for more... a measely 1 million for a book deal...she seems unaffected by this "fame and fortune" stuff people keep throwing at her.

For those of you interested in the California recall...HUGH HEWITT covers it today with good analysis. He deals with the bias of the Los Angeles times in its coverage. What is interesting is...as I was in California for the last three weeks and filled in for KRLA Morning Man Mark Larson one day my observation was that up to a couple of weeks ago - the Los Angeles Times had had little to no coverage. Hewitt calls them the bias based democrat favoring propagandists that they are...

Real Clear Politics takes an unusual website-to-website dig at The Drudge Report today...this should be fun to follow...
