This is Janet Parshall with today's Salem Radio Commentary.
While homosexual activists may be celebrating the decision handed down by the Massachusetts Supreme Court granting them the right to marry, a majority of Americans still call homosexuality a sin.
A poll released by the Pew Research Center found that 55 percent of Americans believe that it is a sin to engage in homosexual behavior. And for those with a high degree of religious commitment, that number jumps to 76 percent.
While nearly 6 in 10 Americans oppose gay marriage, the poll also found that 80 percent of those who have a strong faith oppose the idea of same sex unions.
This polling data is a fascinating illustration of the two truly different world views fighting for predominance in this culture: One is centered on the concept of a transcendent moral code of right and wrong; the other based on the belief that we make up "truth" as we go along.
Those of us who believe in absolute truth must not abdicate our responsibility to bring it clearly into the marketplace of ideas.
