I fully agree with the author on his point. There is an unrealistic living standard by which most young Christians live, and it causese people's hands to be tied. However, I find my own family in a much different place. My wife and I have been serving for just over a year with a young missions organization. Before that, we spent two years trying to do what we felt God was telling us to do in another ministry position. All the while, we have been working up to four side jobs at once and living a very stripped-down, and simple lifestyle. At the present time, we have accumulated a little over $20,000 in debt due to student loans and credit cards that have kept us alive while we did what we truly, prayerfully, felt God wanted us to do. We have a wonderful 2 year-old, and another baby on the way. We have never lived frivolously. What is a family like ours to do? I eagerly invite any advice.
