Can you believe the "pub" that the Air America Radio Station is gathering in this city? After 'four' days of leading newspaper promo features, inserts and the major "Scene Section" puff piece, now, get ready for a Thursday morning splash in the Sacramento Bee - AGAIN!
This morning KCRA ran three 4-minute pieces on Franken's visit, in addition to the Bee's 250,000 'free flyers' since last Friday. Even KFBK's Tom Sullivan and sister Clear Channel radio station KSTE got in on the act, as they joined with KCRA to express the arrival of Franken and the "new station".
Nowhere was there a mention of "News Talk 1380 KTKZ", we never received a single phone call to offer a comment on the new competition and Franken's 'Crest Crowing' - we were totally ignored. The only players, the usual 'media cabal', the Bee, KCRA and KFBK (Clear Channel).
When will Clear Channel purchase the Air America station here in Sacramento?
Adding a liberal talk station, as Clear Channel has been doing in other market's like San Diego, is a nice addition to the "scratch my back, I'll scratch your back" inner circle. They could run cover, by offering their 'profs' to the liberal radio station, covering themselves against the Left, and the progressive citizens of Sacramento. Very convenient, and very profitable.
