The Truth About Hillary Clinton...

~10:53am~  EST
THE TRUTH ABOUT HILLARY: In just a matter of four hours the most sought after and the most hated author in America will appear in the mid-town Manhattan MuscleHead Radio studios. (Klein is slated to appear on the show today between 2:30pm EST - 4pm, Listen live from the options in the sidebar of this page. Or - join the video chat room and SEE the interview take place - while discussing it with other MuscleHeads.)

In the last few weeks a great deal has been made of Edward Klein's new book - The Truth About Hillary . Some of the expected criticism has stemmed from the very attack dogs that Klein names in the manuscript - Hillary's girls.

The pressure has been great on talk radio and the television punditry circuit to NOT publicize this book or even give it any airtime. Producers from the Sean Hannity, Mike Gallagher, and numerous additional talk radio shows have confirmed that strong pressure has been applied to avoid allowing Klein to appear  and tell the story of the book.

Even my fellow CrossWalk Blogger and Salem Radio Colleague - Dr. Albert Mohler - President of Southern Seminary in Louisville penned an essay in which he strongly discouraged Christians  from paying too much attention to the book if it was - as had been rumored based largely on ambiguous sources.

Some of the salacious details have leaked prior to the books release. But as I have digested this book in the past two days it is important to make a couple of clarifications.

1. This book  was not penned by an author with an axe to grind against Hillary Clinton - at least there is no evidence of that in the text itself. Edward Klein has conducted what seems like thousands of interviews for the compiling of the picture that he paints in the pages of the book. This is not a book filled with personal invective - and in fact in many places in the book Klein quotes Hillary herself. Sometimes it is her own words that are the most damning in terms of the impression they leave on the reader.

2. The book  is not filled with ambiguous sources. Some of them are secretive for the sake of the person's relationship past or present to the former first lady. But in nearly every circumstance Klein gives us some idea of who they are. "A source who was on the plane with her...", "Someone who participated in that discussion...", etc. etc. Klein tries to place as much context as possible around each bit of eye-witness testimony that he uses in the narrative.

The force of what the book says is found in the cumulative effect of the myriads of experiences, speeches, comments, and circumstances that Klein allows us to see.

This book will not please Hillary Clinton or her fans - but not for the reasons she will try to spin. She will attempt to argue that these are not factual occurances that they are instead the gossip of disgruntled supporters. However the book is argued to tightly to allow such a broadstroke defense.

If Hillary Clinton seeks serious dispute with the facts of Klein's work - then the only thing she can do to settle the questions raised is to do the one thing she never will - Answer the questions straight forwardly to people who ask them...
