Don't you find it embarrassing that the Sacramento Bee, and the entire golden coastline of MSM decided to feature the "Arnold Hit Piece" by Democrat Legislator Jackie Speier, and the public employee unions today?
Especially embarrassing, when you consider that we lost two of our finest in Sacramento County in a helicopter accident, critically wounding a third. Still, the Bee stays true to their template, and places the Schwarzenegger story above the fold - and above the Sheriff's tragedy - making sure that ALL readers see and believe that the governor is up to something illegal with his relationship to two 'Muscle Magazines' while being paid for his consulting input.
As far as the argument, it is not illegal for the governor - who is working for the state without drawing a paycheck from the budget and tax dollars - to have outside income from the private sector, free market, capitalistic economy.
The Dems, are trying to 'create' a scandal (similar to the Karl Rove creation in DC?) surrounding Arnold's magazine income, and the publisher's revenue derived from "nutritional supplement ads" placed inside of the mags themselves. Is Arnold vetoing government regulation for nutritional supplements legislation as a favor for his magazine friends, and the supplement manufacturers?
Let me answer that question by asking another; do the majority party Democrats offer favorable legislation for the tax dollar funded, and union dues empowered Public Employee Unions of California when it comes to crafting and blocking legislation for California?
Which is more scandalous?
How much money has Jackie Speier, and 'other union Dems', acquired from the Public Employee Unions over the years? How have they treated their "money market" when it comes to legislation and budgetary disciplines?
When Governor Gray Davis vetoed the government regulations surrounding ephedra, because Davis was getting campaign donations from the manufacturers, did Speier and the Democrats scream with concern?
The governor does NOT believe that ALL supplements are BAD for you, and they do not need a "one fits all" piece of legislation regulating each supplement as an equal of the other. The governor has stated such, he vetoed the legislation and he stands behind his decision.
The Democrats are giddy with another "Big Lie" campaign, trying to crete the premise that Arnold is protecting his friends, making millions and vetoing legislation that would remove dangerous supplements from the shelves and magazines of the nation.
Remember, supplements are NOT steroids...two different things folks.
The only 'muscle game' evolving here is the 'out-of-control' machine of the public employee unions. If the press really wanted to remove dangerous growth hormones from our society, then they should stop the 'hit pieces', and focus on the paycheck protection initiative.
