The Not So Great Commission

Take a thoughtful read through the latest we know about the London bombers, and you'll see a troubling thread in each story: each young man became intensively committed to his Muslim faith a year or two ago, and ended up a killer. You can draw a scary conclusion from this: the better a Muslim you are, the more you may be naturally inspired by your religion to murder people. The more serious you are about a religion that teaches jihad, the more you'll want to perform jihad.

The incredible thing we may find is that these men actually believed they were doing the greatest deed of religious good in their lives. That's why they could seem so relaxed about it. For them, this was like heading to Mexico for a youth mission trip, or quitting a jobat Microsoft to go enroll in Dallas seminary. An act of understandable devotion.

And a product of unbelievable deception. We've got to help Muslims find Christ, who will reliably lead them to give their lives for others instead of taking the lives of others.

For the first time, the Christian church may need to evangelize a people group in part just to save it's own future.
