California's Attorney General Bill Lockyer has invited 'political artist', Steven Pearcy, to hang his creations in the lobby of the Attorney General's Office at the Department of Justice, 1300 I Street, in Sacramento.
Today we dispatched our crack crew to the office complex to see for ourselves the 'artwork' hanging in the lobby - sure thing, it is in full view. Friday there was a reception, and a ceremony honoring Pearcy and his piece of 'art' as it was placed on the wall.
From Pearcy's Blog Page called "Corruption Exposer", the anti-military protestor reported the events last week, during the days leading up to the ceremony on Friday.
"Wonderful news! Beginning this Friday, July 15, 2005, at 3:30 pm, the Office of the Attorney General will exhibit my political display, "T'ANKS TO MR. BUSH." My display will remain on exhibit in the Attorney General's Office until August 31, 2005. A reception for the exhibition will take place from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. All members of the public are welcome."
Pearcy also has his "Effigy Art" hanging in the lobby of the Sacramento Public Law Offices at 813 6th Street in Sacramento. This 'art' display features Pearcy's "Bush Lied, I Died" Effigy of a US Soldier and a hangman's noose.
Tomorrow morning, we will have numerous interviews and reports surrounding these "new locations" for Pearcy's Peacenik, and anti-military depictions. What was once a residential street in Land Park, has now become the lobby of the state's highest law office.
Do tax payers know that Bill Lockyer has invited such anti-military protests to the building? We will have pictures later this evening, and sound from the lobby of the Justice Department tomorrow on "News Talk 1380 KTKZ".
