Governor; "Just Getter Done!"

The "Special Election " is NOT a total loss...

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today vowed to press forward with his reform agenda despite a series of setbacks.

The governor staged a news conference at the State Capitol to promise a school nutrition revolution in California, but the topic quickly turned to his struggling reform campaign. Schwarzenegger denied rumors the administration may call off November's special election.

"We are moving forward with our agenda," Schwarzenegger said. "Just in case there's confusion out there. We're moving forward as planned. I'm looking forward it. And I'm looking forward to having true reforms for California."

Today's headlines in the newspaper tell the tale for California, and the future of the 'union money machine' influencing politics.

The leaders of four of the country's largest labor unions announced on Sunday that they would boycott this week's AFL-CIO Convention in Chicago. And they are set to announce their withdrawal from the largest union umbrella tonight. Why are unions dieing?

There are a number of reasons that unions are dieing:

1. Employers are compiling with state labor laws that were established and created by the energy and success of the unions over the past 40-50 years. There is little need for 'labor unions', or any type of union in the private sector today.

2. Manufacturing is in a major decline, so 'blue collar, labor unions' are also in decline. It is all about the future, and the future is NOT in manufacturing in America.

3. Where is the growth? It is in services, and the global economy. The growing unions find themselves surrounding services in the private sector, but even these service jobs are being threatened by outsourcing.

4. So, the thriving bastion for labor unions to run to is...the 'public sector'. Government jobs, protected by tax dollars salaries, that lead to union dues for campaign cash - and the future life, and breathe of the labor unions for America. Control the legislation, the politicians, the tax dollar salaries, and the amount of union dues - and you can create a 'need' for yourself as a public employee union.

As the private sector dies, the public sector thrives. and this is why the governor needs to continue his fight for the ":Special Election".

I know, many people are discouraged over the Lockyer Tactics, and the poorly operated committees surrounding the Gov's initiatives and reform packages ideas.

Yet, with pensions reform gone, the merit pay refused, and the re-districting initiative in the dumpster...there is still the "Paycheck Protection Act" for the governor to campaign on, and to win!

The only growth in the union workforce is in the public sector. And now, like the business management they vilify, the public sector unions want to downsize, and get rid of the non-producing segments - the private sector union employees. A bit ironic, yes?

Take it to the people, rekindle the recall again...and start to eat away at this 'web of control', this 'money machine' of the unions thriving inside of the public sector, and inside of politics.

Start up the Hummer governor, get back out there and..."Getter Done"!
