World Vision has already begun responding – sending shipments of emergency supplies, donated by generous corporations and distributed in partnership with local churches and Christian agencies to children and families in need. Campus Crusade for Christ already has resources to help provide immediate assistance to victims in affected areas. With the massive amount of clean up that will be undertaken in the coming weeks, World Relief volunteers will need chainsaws, containers to haul away debris, tools, and other necessary items. A New Directions International (NDI) relief team is scheduled to leave mid-week to be on site for the next 60-90 days. They are coming alongside a fellow Christian ministry in need called the Cornerstone Foundation. This ministry and its staff were directly affected by the hurricane with their homes and ministry headquarters suffering significant damage.
