RATHER INSISTS BUSH STORY "ACCURATE": In a way that defies reason, the man who is no longer the head of CBS News because of his unbelievable agenda and "ax to grind" style of journalism, is still insisting that "the story" that he put on the air with forged documents - is still accurate.
He doesn't stop there either. He goes on to attack the blogs who uncovered his wrong doing as being highly partisan.
"What I learned is there are bloggers who have as much integrity as I or the most integrity-filled people I know have, and who feel that it's their mission in life to ask questions and keep on asking questions," Rather said. "There are other bloggers, and I'll go ahead and say it, that some of the quote, 'mainstream press' seemed to take, if not delight in our dilemma, uh, they picked up pretty quickly on those bloggers who were partisan, politically affiliated and/or had [an] ideological axe to grind with us."
Of course Dano, TIME magazine didn't seem to think so - remember? They named the POWERLINE guys "Blog of the Year." And while its true that Little Green Footballs, Michelle Malkin, Hugh Hewitt, Captain's Quarters, WizBANG, and I all contributed pieces to the overall story - and we also all happen to be more conservative than liberal, doesn't mean that one thing that we uncovered was inaccurate - much less FORGED!
Yes, my part of the story was small, and related only to the Kinkos accounts used by those who faxed the forged documents. Nonetheless those of us who contributed to the growing big picture took satsifaction in knowing that we were telling the truth about something that twenty years ago would have been perpetrated without the public's knowledge.
The arrogance of Old Dan is stunning! And even to this day for him to know the truth and to insist upon a lie is additional proof positive that the guy is whack and needed to exit years ago...
