ELECTION DAY LATEST RESULTS: According to media pundits it looks like this election day doesn't have a lot of teeth to it. However the two governor's races that are on the ballot today represent some fairly big issues.
In Virginia - with the tightest Governor's race in recent memory, the conservative republican Jerry Kilgore welcomed help from President Bush. Kilgore is facing a popular democratic Lt Gov. Tim Kaine. Because of term limits incumbent Governor Mark Warner is unable to run again. Polls are already opened and will remain till 8pm. Latest Virginia election results here.
In New Jersey - another race that has tightened in recent days. Some of the press is saying that the reason comes from a recent charge launched from Jon Corzine's ex-wife this week.
Joanne Corzine from a story that appeared in Wednesday's New York Times: "All I could think was that Jon did let his family down, and he'll probably let New Jersey down, too," she told the newspaper, describing her reaction to seeing Forrester's wife in a campaign advertisement.
The quote also popped up in a Doug Forrestor ad the following day. Corzine's people responded by saying it hit below the belt. But the press picked up on far fewer significant newsworthy items in the final days leading up to today's election.
