WHAT IS WRONG WITH CALIFORNIANS?: A cursory look at what happened in the California elections last night shows that massive organization was behind the efforts. Governor Schwarzenegger was supporting 8 tough referendums for massive change, just like he had campaigned on. Four of them were considered "third rail" kinds of issues, based on some of the organized support that was rallied to stop them. But one of the issues, as addressed by Prop 73, seemed an obvious one that voters should have rallied around.

So why didn't they? That's the million dollar question!

Last friday I devoted my syndicated column, my broadcast, even the space of this blog to the under-reported story as to how the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals had made a couple of astounding declarations regarding parents and the rights they should have when it comes to exposing children to sexual material.

The part of the issue that bothered me most is how arrogant the court was in declaring that parents "had no fundamental right" to say what sexual material reaches their children's eyes and ears. The court went even further declaring that the parents could also not argue that excercise of a family's faith could not be the basis for making such objection either.

My argument was that the court was taking away a right from parents and bestowing it upon a school system. I turned red-faced in passionate declaration on my radio show as I devoted all three hours to the matter. And even though the 9th Circuit Court serves the western geographical third of the United States we took the most number of calls ever on this topic setting a new show record.
