SEN. SCHUMER's FILIBUSTER ON ALITO: I got word on this late yesterday. When we followed up - it all checked out. Senator Chuck Schumer is considering a filibuster on the Senate floor of the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito.
Alito is expected to sail out of committee today on a 10-8 vote.
The senior Senator from New York is taking a tally of all calls coming into both his NYC (212.486.4430) and Washington D.C. (202.224.6542) offices.
It must really stink to be Senator Schumer right now. Considering the huge amount of money Planned Parenthood, NOW, and the rest of the left wing extremist groups pour into his campaign coffers - the entire Alito scenario is showing them that he is as impotent to stop conservative justices from getting on the nation's highest court as he is to restrain himself from not jumping in front of any television camera within reach. See with all that money - comes the pressure to stop the pro-life community - especially on the huge stuff - like a Supreme Court vacancy. Now, how does he go back to those groups and convince them that money donated to his campaigns in the future are still useful to their goals? And that question leads us back to why he might filibuster - even without good reason...
