MARRIAGE DEFENDERS WIN BIG: I realize in all the earth shattering news surrounding the events of Vice President Cheney's hunting accident the major press outlets across America have no time for other news - but other stuff is happening. And in terms of defending marriage - pro-family MuscleHeads are on a roll!
Yesterday the MuscleHead Revolution joined forces with the City Action Coalition here in New York and rallied metro-wide clergy to the cause of the defense of marriage. More than 50 pastors representing organizations and congregations numbering in the hundreds of thousands stood up on city hall steps and encouraged the Mayor and City Council Speaker to not press forward with any plans to legitimize the redefining of marriage to include homosexual unions.
Marriage Equality New York - a pro-gay activist group showed up to attempt to make a counter statement - but was in every regard ineffective.
The defense of marriage - is the mainstream view of Americans - and it is important for the church to continue to stand up and speak out, and to be every bit as vigilant as the other side is persistent.
