BROOKE BARRETTSMITH SHINES ON: This last week I was sad to see my friends Brooke and Leah Barrettsmith get eliminated from American Idol. I couldn't quite figure it out as to why with Brooke. Leah got paired with a nightmare of a group for the ensemble portion of the contest. But Brooke really continued to beat the judges expectations - and then for no discernable reason she gets cut at the point where - performance had nothing to do with it.

I also could not figure out why they didn't show more of Brooke's performances on television.

Well - if you were pulling for her - or just wanted to know more about her, and the experience of the American Idol process, I've got a treat for you! Now if you'd like to sample some of her original music, she has four songs streaming on her MySpaceMusic page . The one that begins playing as soon as you go to the page is my favorite - simply called "Make Me ." And I'm hoping that she is snatched up by a great record company who will give her the creative support that her creative abilities so richly deserve. In fact - I believe that the song "Make Me " in it's current recorded form - would hold up against any of the previous American Idol singles from Kelly, Clay, Rueben, Fantasia, or Carrie.
