CHURCHES AND PUBLIC RELATIONS: THE MISSING LINK

Speaking of ABC, Nashville TV reporter Jamey Tucker watches the "Faith and Ethics" beat for News2, the city's ABC-affiliate. In his recent blog entry, "CHURCHES AND PUBLIC RELATIONS: THE MISSING LINK, Tucker lamented to difficulty of giving church programs good press when they refuse it. (The irony? STOP THE PRESS

BarlowGirl will be the focus of an Associated Press (AP) story hitting the wire April 3 or 4. Complete with an AP photo from BarlowGirl’s recent Knoxville, Tenn., concert, the feature will focus on the three sisters' incredible success in mainstream and Christian music, including five major Gospel Music Award nominations.

And this morning, NBC's "Today show" featured BarlowGirl in a segment focusing on teens and their faith.

ONE FOR THE BOOKS

And on The Disney Channel, Mediaweek column "The Programming Insider" reports the cable net broke a record with the debut of live-action comedy "Hannah Montana," starring Miley Cyrus and daddy Billy Ray Cyrus. The episode, which aired on The Disney Channel last Friday (March 24), lifted the cable net to its highest ratings for a series to-date. Among all basic cable telecasts for the day, Hannah Montana ranked No. 2 overall in "households, kids 2-11 (12.0 rating / 2.34 million viewers) and tweens 9-14."

(When they start throwing in demographic data, we're not completely sure what it means -- but it sounds important.)
