I have both liberal and conservative tendencies in various areas of my life. I was a democrat by birthrights, but now I am a democrat by choice. I was born in 1944, which means I picked cotton, attended segregated public schools, and was involved in the civil rights movement.

Jessie Lee Peterson says we must stop being angry in order to move forward. He is right, but it is very hard when society blames blacks subpar position. We did not volunteer for slavery; write the Black Codes, and Jim Crow. We are the most despised race of people in America. Sometime life does not give you a choice. We did not put ourselves into this hole, but we must dig our way out. Black America has not figured out how to collectively psychoanalyze an abused people.

Black democrat and republican leaders have so much to offer, but they speak in a vacuum, not to each other. These super smart republican and democrat leaders must physically meet to discuss the state of black America.
