CENSORING THE MEMORY OF 9/11:As theaters in New York are making the decision to randomly pull the trailer for the new 9/11 film "UNITED 93". The supposed cry is because - "its too soon!" Have you seen the trailer? Watch it here and then weigh in on whether you believe America is ready for this. I would also appreciate your opinion on whether you think certain groups might benefit from spiking this film? E-mail me here.
I will play the audio from the trailer on the show today. I will play it again tomorrow and the day after. I might play it everyday between now and opening day on April 28.
I personally also think the opposition, the outcry to stop this film really comes from a very evil and perilous place - POLITICS. The days we live in are far too important to be frittered away because of political objections. This film - on the surface - seems to remind us of just how perilous the evil is that we face in the War On Terror.
Nobody has cried that it was "too soon" for Farenheit 911 to be made. Nobody cried "too soon" for George Clooney's anti-war-on-terror works. So why does this one take a different path?
Is it perhaps that it is because we have forgotten, we've become complacent, shallow, and irresponsible...
