IT'S ALIENS - NOT IMMIGRANTS:As I have said repeatedly in recent days - I'm rebelling. I'm rebelling against the media, the liberals, the socialists, the radicals, and all those trying to rip apart the heart of America.
And its all about the words.
About five years ago there was a mild debate that went around the broadcast media world. I remember one of my bosses, at WMBI in Chicago telling me to no longer refer to those who were in the U.S. illegally as "aliens." It was "offensive" and the A.P. style book was going to change its verbage - so we were too.
I've thought back to that directive many times in recent weeks...Shameful!
Shameful because it gave away the most important aspect of the debate that is now happening in America - the language.
Well no more...
Aliens are "strangers in a foriegn land." And that's exactly what Illegals in the U.S. need to feel like - strangers. People who have either overstayed their legal right to be here, or came here with no right ever being extended to them in the first place.
And let be me clear on this. Immigration is something I am a huge fan of. Some of my dearest friends in America are Americans through immigration. (My adopted son being most prominent in mind.) But immigration is not what we are discussing in the issue concerning the borders, national security, or the illegal aliens who living in the United States.
And we have to begin by calling things what they are - because we in the MuscleHead Revolution know that words mean things...
And aliens and immigrants are not the same.
