MIKE BLOOMBERG's NYC: GAY GOTHAM: It is one thing for Mayor of America's largest and most complex city to play both sides of the fence for political purposes, but this weekend it looks as though Mayor Bloomberg has just plain decided to stop fighting the fight, straddling the fence, hemming when he should be hawing etc. Instead Bloomberg is taking Gotham GAY, and being rather defiant in doing so. And he lies doing it...
In his weekly radio address this last weekend Bloomberg went dishonest in the first paragraph:
"Later this week we begin Pride Month, when New Yorkers of every sexual orientation celebrate the achievements of our gay community. The diversity and tolerance of our city has always been our greatest strength. How else could so many people of different backgrounds and cultures live side by side? And if we want to preserve that strength, we must ensure that New York remains a place where all communities can grow, thrive, and enjoy equal protection under the law."
It's the last line that is the most dishonest. The implication by what he infers is that New York somehow is a place where communities can't grow, thrive and enjoy equal protection. And that's his jumping off point into the abyss of insanity.
Equal protection under the law already applies to every ethnic group in America. Equal protection laws already insure parity between the genders. They guarantee fair treatment for those with disabilities and handicaps. And if the ACLU gets its way they will even insure special rights for illegals who do not even have the right to be here.
Mayor Bloomberg is using the equal protection straw man to assert that people be allowed to behave in whatever way they wish to - not be born of a certain race. And the differences are enormous.
And the Mayor topped it off by saying even if the courts protect marriage - he will work hard to destroy it:
"If the Court of Appeals rules that same-sex marriages are legal, then we'll perform them. If they rule the other way, our Administration will begin working with the State Legislature for a new law that establishes marriage equality for all New Yorkers, and we'll do so in partnership with City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and the growing number of elected and civic leaders who stand with us."
Meanwhile just in time to add more fuel to the fire, DC comics is releasing a new version of BATWOMAN. This time promising to make her a "lipstick lesbian." For those you new to the terms it is a pornographer's dream. The vision of a lipstick lesbian is supposed to reduce men to the drueling buffoons the left believe's men to be these days. The "Lipstick Lesbian" defending "Gay Gotham" - nope - we're not battling a culture war... not at all
