DURBIN MAKES AN APPOINTMENT FOR 2500th CASUALTY: Speaking on the floor of the United States Senate right this minute, Senator Dick Durbin from Illinois is pleading with the Senate to hold a two and a half minute "moment of silence" for the fallen 2500th soldier (if or when it happens) as he said "in the very near days to come..." He also then went on to lecture the GOP for not being present in the Senate chamber at the time to get them to remark on his planned "moment of silence" memorial.

He started out by noting that American casualties were at 2493. He then went into his near euphoric anticipation of number 2500. He nearly broke his arm congratulating himself on how he would "fight this fight" to get the "moment of silence" observance to be held on the floor of the U.S. Senate.

Which brought me to the obvious question for the Senator.

"Why not support them now - while their still alive?"

Would it be too much for the Senator to offer a few, even more than a few stunning words of appreciation for what we are accomplishing through the dedicated men and women he seeks to entomb? Would it be so very much for him to lend a tribute to those who have fallen without seeking the deaths of seven more?

Really Senator - the troops would love to know!
