After reading the article and the comments I have to interject a question or two. One comment notes "we have a covenant - the New Covenant." The other quotes 2 Chron. 7:14. I have trouble with the blurred lines I see in this line of reasoning. How can we compare Israel of the OT, God's covenant people then, with the US today and imply a covenant of like nature? Israel was a nation of ONE GOD. However, from the very beginnings of this nation our constitution allowed for a multiplicity of not just denominations of Christianity, but other religious beliefs. I believe God raised the US up. Only He can do so. But no manner of blustering by Christians changes the fact we are not "one nation, under God." As Christians in this day we should be continually asking God's blessing on our nation and leaders, along with asking His forgiveness for the sins of our nation. Look at the fate of nations in scripture that did not heed God's instructions and warnings. The US is no different.

there is a part I left out of the scripture by mistake, it is the part of God forgiving our sins,

Have we forgotten God? Has activities,TV,other things taken place of our relationship with The great I AM,where does God fit in our secular lives, sure we attend church on sunday, maybe even wednesday, what does that equal out to be with what is taken place in our everyday life, what about 4 hours a week, what are we doing at home? what are we doing at work? are we becoming like the worlds view, the worlds take on Christ,or are we becoming more like Christ Jesus, how much do we sacrifice for HIM? when we think about what he sacrificed, WHAT GOD sacrificed, (for our freedom)do we walk in faith or in substance? I believe the scripture saith, (If My People which are called by my name will repent and turn from their wicked ways Then they will here from heaven and I will heal their land.)what we need is more commitment to God and less to self,I believe that God wants to continue to bless America, But he has to be first,so I believe our writer is correct in what he wrote about America.

I mostly agree; I think one can't make absolute statements like "America is in scripture" or is not. One has to compare history with symbolism and careful study of the text. Certainly USA is not just another country; its superpower status, its prosperity, as well as its Christian-based founding, laws, and culture, however tainted now, make America in a special relationship with God. We do have a covenant -- the New Covenant. As our representatives abandon more Godly principles, we can expect the blessings and protections to erode -- but I'm not convinced yet that God will abandon America.
