I think your idea of a "Community" church would be great. All too often to we find our churches filled with the "Holy". People have forgotten what they were before they found Jesus. Then you have the churchers (people born and raised in the church), who think that because their grandfather help build the church 40 years ago that they have more privileges then the member that just joined. All of these attitudes have helped in the destruction of CHURCH across America. When did we stop seeing through the eyes of God? When did it become more important to be in a click than to welcome the family that is in torn clothes? The Church should not be looking down on someone but picking him or her up. I have been a member of several churches in my short time on earth. I have watched that in all of them as money, clothes, race, or status determined the acceptance that you felt when you walked in the door. We as Christians must step up and go unto the world. We cannot be afraid to go and talk, and meet, and help, and love our brothers and sisters. Jesus ate with a tax collector, maybe we can have lunch with a stripper. Jesus walked with the Samaritans; maybe we can share the word with a local gang. Every time I mention this, the argument is that those people are sinners and that we should not associate with them. Why not? Maybe we will share God and gain a new brother or sister. Maybe we will find that person that will be there when we need somebody to lean on.
