If, as you claim, "human beings have no rights before God," and that "We don’t have a right, before God, to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, salvation, or anything else," feel free to follow your own conscience. Don't marry another man, and don't attend an Gay weddings. But please don't presume that everyone else in this pluralistic American society is obligated to march in lockstep to your drummer.
The reason Gay and Straight couples choose to marry is to make a solemn declaration, before friends and family members, that they wish to make a commitment to one another's happiness, health, and well-being, to the exclusion of all others. Those friends and family members will subsequently act as a force of encouragement for that couple to hold fast to their vows. THAT'S what makes marriage a good thing.
But if you don’t like Gay marriage, ignore the invitation. It’s that simple.
