Eric's April 28th show. I am extremely concerned, since the purported topic of Eric's show was his concern for the divisiveness of Wright's comments, particularly about the different learning styles of black students (right versus left brain). Yet Eric went on for an hour and several times compared Wright's comments about learning styles to Al Campansis's (former Dodger scout) comments about blacks not being suited for intellectual and leadership roles in baseball. Campansis comments were generally perceived as being comments about genetically based deficiences. By mentioning Campansis and by repeatedly failing to clarify the issue, Eric left the impression that Wright asserted genetically based differences. This was evidenced by the comments of confused callers. However, Wright was clearly referencing alleged culturally based learning styles. Eric seemed to know what was going on and did nothing to clarify. Eric's approach raises the question of whether he is acting in bad faith.
