With the onset of the "new media", many newspapers now have more interactive websites and blog pages. I've taken some time this weekend to read the articles in the Sacramento Bee and the San Francisco Chronicle surrounding Ted Haggard's sexual immorality.

At the close of every column or article, there are 'comment sections'. These are pages established for readers of the articles content to post their own opinions and comments. The vile rhetoric that has been offered by readers and California's communities, in reference to Haggard's sinful display and removal from the ministry is amazing. The hate, and the venom is openly displayed. Here are a few 'edited' examples...

This is great news. Finally, a HOLY ROLLER goes down for the very things he condemns. Now who gets to rot in hell (heh, heh). Forgiveness?????? Has a HOLY ROLLER ever forgiven a gay person?? Has a HOLY ROLLER ever forgiven an abortion doctor?? Has a HOLY ROLLER ever forgiven anyone who is not exactly like them???? NO, if your not a HOLY ROLLER you're supposed to rot in hell right?? Now the HOLY ROLLER gets to rot in hell. GOD always brings those down who think they are elite. How does it feel HOLY ROLLER?? Are you still FULL OF YOURSELF?? And what of all the people that followed you?? Heh, heh boy they sure look STUPID NOW. God bless free will and free choice. Thank you GOD for FINALLY making one of these pathetic HOLY ROLLIN HOLYER THAN THOUS pay for the way they believe. I thank you god for bringing this DEMON down. This article makes me sick. I can't believe the idiocy of right wing christians! "We forgive our brother!" They all hug each other and make excuses for the moron liar. Look what those same people say about Catholic priests that have sex! Why do you see more stories about the priests? Simple - there are a helluva lot more priests, and they are expected to abstain, which can drive men crazy. This moronic pastor didn't have to abstain - he was married! So he wasn't having to follow his hormonal urges - he is just a plain lying disgusting waste of oxygen. These whacko christians will make excuses for any of their sins, but are the first to carry picket signs and condemn anyone else for not living as they see fit. Puke.

When you read these comments, or hear them on the street, television or radio, remember the results of David's sexual, murderous tryst with Bathsheba. Nathan's rebuke of King David was firm and accurate; "However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme..." (2 Samuel 12:14)

When we place ourselves in the seat of self righteousness and fall to the fleshly desires that we ALL have, the enemies of the Lord have a 'pep rally'. The demons rejoice.

Stay the course; but remember, it is God Who is big, and we the people who are small...and in great need of the Savior's grace and mercy everyday.
