What is the appropriate "rehabilitation" of Ted Haggard?

I noticed that Dr. James Donson has removed himself from the Ted Haggard restoration process. I have some thoughts, and I've decided to bring them to the show tonight. If you care to comment, please use my email address offered below.

What is the appropriate "rehabilitation" of Ted Haggard?

The Denver AP story reads, "There will be prayer and perhaps the 'laying on of hands'. There will be counseling and confessions. And there will be advice, confrontation and rebuke from 'godly men' appointed to oversee the spiritual 'restoration' of Ted Haggard."

Dr. James Dobson has bowed out of the 'accountability and rehabilitation' process. He has stated he doesn't have the time to offer the project.

Focus on the Family Leader, HB London, has stated, "Haggard has agreed to a rehabilitation process that could last three to five years," London continues, "I see success approximately 50-percent of the time. These guys wear out, and they can no longer subject themselves to the process. Those who fail, and up selling cars or shoes or something and being miserable and angry the rest of their lives."

Is this true rehabilitation and restoration?

Id only 50% succeed this three to five year journey, is it too much? Are we trying to create sanctification on man's terms, rather than God's?

The real issue here is not forgiveness, but 'trust'. Can Ted Haggard be restored (rehabilitated) to a position of 'leadership' inside of some type of ministry or church? If yes, how?

Does he have to be perfect? How do we evaluate, how do you 'know' he has been restored?

Or...

Does this have more to do with "church image" than Ted Haggard? Is this evidence of the churches sinfulness in creating "celebrities", and when they fall we have to be REALLY tough to heal our embarrassment.

Are we trying to make it really tough so we can "feel" better about our image to the culture, rather truly care about a man, husband and brother in Christ?

Simple question: "What must Ted Haggard "do" to be restored to a trustworthy level inside of the church - even if it is just remedial leadership?
