As someone who attended a government school during my primary years, a Christian high school and secular college education, I think Paul's article is a good eye opener. If we close our children out of the world, we may be doing them more harm than good. Open interaction with 'the world' will enable our children to mature into adults best suited to execute whatever God and country asks them to do. As parents, what we need to do make the time to guide our children as they deal with issues that emerge from their interaction with the world. I thank my parents for letting me attend both secular and Christian schools, and one can see how differently I handle situations as against my mates who were only educated in Christian schools.

Paul: Thanks for your honesty assessment on what is happening to our kids. I would also add that when we keep our kids in Christian schools, we are not preparing them to interact with a secular world. Instead, they are cloistered and unduly afraid of unbelievers.I would rather my children attend secular schools, interact with teachers and children who are not Christians, so I can be available to my kids to guide and monitor these interchanges. Otherwise, once our children enter a non-Christian environment during college they may lack the coping skills to deal with secular peer pressure and not able to act with compassion and truth towards those who do not have a Christian world view. God forbid our kids should consider holiness in terms of isolation from secular people. How can they ever be the light of the world, if the light is hidden under the bushel of Christian schools?
