About Richard Abanes

Richard Abanes is an award-winning, bestselling journalist who has authored/co-authored twenty books covering world religions, cults, the occult, pop culture, and the entertainment industry. His newest volume, A New Earth, An Old Deception, is the first Christian response to the New Age spiritual teachings of Eckhart Tolle (author of A New Earth). Abanes is also a novelist, last year having released his first novel, Homeland Insecurity -- a fast-paced, action-packed thriller that revolves around domestic terrorism and racism. It is no surprise that such a novel would come from Abanes. In 1997, he received The Myers Center Award for the Study of Human Rights in North America for his "outstanding work on intolerance in North America" for his volume  American Militias: Rebellion, Racism, and Religion). That same year, he also won the Evangelical Press Association's "Higher Goals In Christian Journalism Award." He has written for numerous Christian magazines, appeared on hundreds of TV/radio talk shows, and also been the guest speaker at a variety functions hosted by Biola University, Southern California Baptist University, Mensa, Cal Tech University, Calvary Chapel, Saddleback Church, and assorted Discernment Conferences throughout America.

Eckhart Tolle, Oprah, New Spirituality

Just because it sounds good godly, does not mean it is good and godly.

With Oprah Winfrey's hearty endorsement and a lack of contradictory discussions, the New York Times best-seller, A New Earth, sounds like good news. What many Christians and seekers don't seem to realize is that while many of the claims sound biblical - they simply are not.

Most troubling is the way Tolle consistently uses the Bible to support his heretical views. This, in turn, has caused many Christians to mistakenly believe that Tolle's religious teachings are fully compatible with Christianity.

Thanks to high-powered celebrity support, Tolle has influenced untold millions of people with his updated version of New Age ideas about God, Jesus Christ, salvation, forgiveness, sin, and the afterlife.

Join me at CCN.TV  to uncover the real truth about this highly-acclaimed yet controversial book. Through this timely broadcast, your church community can learn why Tolle's ideas are so compelling -and so dangerous. Hear how the New Earth contradicts the Bible's teaching about:

  • Suffering
  • Divinity
  • Jesus

Finally, I will encourage your church community to develop a Christ-like heart and response...We're not out to win an argument but to know and speak the truth in love! For information about how YOUR CHURCH can participate, visit CCN.TV. Learn more about Eckhart Tolle, Oprah Winfrey, and the New Spirituality now popular in America -- and how you can make a difference.

peace in him,

Richard Abanes
