Tony Snow Brought the Aroma of Christ to Washington

"Thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of Him in every place" (2 Corinthians 2:14). That is exactly what Tony Snow did....he allowed the sweet aroma of Christ ti permeate and transform the people and therefore the places he poured himself into.

Is the 21st Century Church Grounded, Gazing, or Greatly Empowered?

If the 21st Century Church is going to transform the culture we have to leave the building. We must go where the people are, build a bridge of fellowship, and demonstrate the love of Christ even as we gently warn that to reject His love is to eventually feel His wrath. The 21st Century Church must be found neither grounded nor gazing but rather greatly empowered by the Holy Spirit, fulfilling the call to be His witnesses "even to the remotest part of the earth."

Dr. Dobson Was Right to Challenge Obama

Truth, absolute truth that comes from God's revelation of Himself in His Word, defies the vote of the majority. It flies in the face of opinion polls and focus groups. What makes Barack Obama, Jim Wallis or anyone else believe the only way truth can be injected into the public arena is by stuffing it with reason and coating it with compromise?

Southern Baptists Embrace California Marriage Amendment

Since Southern Baptists have spoken definitively and consistently (ten times in the past seventeen years) expressing the collective will of the messengers concerning same-sex marriage, why speak again in 2008? The answer can be expressed in one word....portablity. California's same-sex marriage law has legs and it threatens to walk from coast to coast if the people refuse to cripple it at the polls in November.

It's Time to Nail Our Colors to the Mast

They say confession is good for the soul so at the risk of sounding whiny, I want to confess that I am physically and mentally exhausted. In fact, last week the thought crossed my mind to toss in the towel with my writing and my radio show and simply concentrate on my responsibilities at North Greenville University. I was almost ready to join the march to the middle for no other reason except I was growing weary of seeming to be out of step with the masses. But then I received a timely reminder from an unlikely source of what is really needed in our world today.
