Despite what we may think, our experiences go a long way in shaping our faith. There are moments when God simply meets us where we are. It could be at our lowest point, far from home like the prodigal son, or it could be when we’re surrounded by the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. The latter happened to Jennifer Garner while she was filming the upcoming faith-based movie, Miracles from Heaven. Miracles tells the true story of the Beam family who were forced to trust in God after their young daughter was diagnosed with a severe, chronic disease.
Garner, who plays the mother of the young girl, recently spoke about how the experience had a life-changing effect on her personal life. According to Relevant Magazine, the actress stopped by Bishop T.D. Jakes’ church to attend Sunday service, and shed some light on the integration of faith in film. Relevant States,
“Garner hasn't openly spoken about her faith in the past, a fact she attributes to her community in Los Angeles. ‘[Faith] is a topic that has become very political. If you're a person of faith, you are so on the outside, that there's no way to bridge to somebody that's 'normal',’ she shared during a Q&A in Dallas. The actress noted that the normal posture of the industry doesn't include talking about faith in between takes, but this movie was very different in that respect.”
Miracles from Heaven is set to release on March 16th of this year.
