Hail, Caesar! Actor Nabs Coveted Role of Young Han Solo

With the success of Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, Disney has ordered a whole host of standalone films set in the galaxy far, far away. The first spinoff, Rouge One, takes place during the formative years of the rebellion, and released its first trailer to the wild delight of fans some time ago. Now, sources at Relevant and Deadline indicate that Disney is hoping to cast Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo in another upcoming film. Ehrenreich is perhaps best known for his role as Hobie Doyle in the Coen brothers comedy Hail, Caesar!, as well as his appearance in 2013’s Blue Jasmine. The new film is expected to reach theaters in 2018 – presumably under the name Han Solo: A Star Wars Story.
